Peace On Earth Begins in the Mind

December 16, 2019 By Jae M. Rang

Aha!  Moment Monday

Have you ever done an “escape room”?  They’re a trendy experience for older-teen or adult parties.  In a nutshell, you’re locked in a room with typically three others, given a few starting clues then need to solve a series of puzzles in order to unlock the door.  Of course you can ask the guards for help but that takes the fun away from you and your team of detectives cracking the code.

The advice we were given was to not over-think anything (I think they saw our complicated minds coming) and even with the advice, we had to be rescued when the 45-minute timer went off.

My friend, Clint, coaches exclusively with realtors.  He found a sweet spot as someone who can simplify anything, and who recognizes that many people who enter the real estate profession do so because of the flexible work hours and love for serving people.  “The challenge…” Clint says, “…is that they end up serving ‘round the clock, becoming overwhelmed and their exasperated efforts don’t necessarily bring success.”

If we know that a recipe for disaster is trying to be all things to all people, why do we insist on trying to be everywhere all at once?

Aha! ~ “Out of clutter, find simplicity.”  ~ Albert Einstein

I’m going to substitute “clutter” with “opportunity” and say, I, personally, can complicate anything because I see infinite possibilities everywhere and call it a blessing to be able to build a vision in any circumstance.  I’ve come to learn, though, that mosaic of opportunity only takes flight with order and order happens at the simplest level.

Let’s face it; working tirelessly is a badge of honor that needs to be stripped.  The Zen revenue model – based on clear, focused action – harnesses time and energy because nothing is wasted.

Clint’s advice: learn to focus your time and energy by being present and take powerful action on what is important.  You’ll not only increase your revenue, you’ll substantially boost inner peace.

I’m wondering … does world peace begin with inner peace?
