How many times have you talked about something that you’d like to do but for some reason the result never materializes?
Maybe it’s a place to where you want to travel, a photo album you’d like to put together, a fitness plan worth implementing or a new market in your business that you’d like to explore. At times the idea of achieving that goal swirls around in your head and appears so real. You just love the idea of accomplishing that goal – BUT – as easy as it comes in it goes out.
Bob Proctor says, “If you can see it in your mind you can hold it in your hand.”
And so, you can see it, but why are you not holding it??
Is it not a priority?
Are you too busy?
Is the first step unclear?
Will the effort required to accomplish the goal be more than you think you can manage?
I’m going to go out on a limb here and suggest that if someone close to you had a goal – say, to write a book – and asked you for some help, if you could, you would agree, right?
And likely if they asked for help then didn’t come for it, you would follow up and with something like, “Hey, how’s that book coming along?? Do you still need my help?”
Aha – we are more accountable to others than we are to ourselves.
If your goal is just in the wishing or even the thinking stage, then if you don’t do it, no one knows the difference, right?
Even if you speak your goal, without true commitment, it is still too easy to let it slide.
However, if you write it down and engage support, you’re on the hook! (in a good way!)
Writing causes thinking and thinking brings clarity.
Assign a time-line to your goal, SIGN IT (true ownership), then share it with someone, or people, who can seriously help you accomplish it… THEN GET TO IT!
Deep breath, pick up that pen, and never look back.
