Aha Moment Monday
I don’t think we give ourselves enough credit.
For instance, have you ever taken on a personal trainer or an accountability buddy? If so, did you discover how many more push-ups you could do when your trainer was encouraging you, or how much longer you could hold that plank when you’re competing with your buddy?
I think, on our own, we tend to undersell ourselves. Funny … we tend to have more confidence in the ability of others than we do ourselves.
Is confidence a predetermined programming or can anyone achieve confidence?
Eric Hoffer said, “If you have too little confidence, you will think you can’t learn. If you have too much, you will think you don’t have to learn.” Either side of that spectrum is self-sabotage.
Some say confidence comes from maturity, others believe it’s born of courage. Confidence is sometimes referred to as a blind faith; like we should muster confidence whether we believe ourselves or not. Then there’s Robert Kiyosaki who says, “Confidence comes from discipline and training.”
At what stage does confidence play a role?
Aha – “All anything takes, really, is confidence.” ~ Rachel Ward
Maybe you need to stir a little confidence into your morning coffee, then dress like you own it, smile like you deserve it, and be grateful … because you had it all along.
“You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, & smarter than you think.” ~ Christopher Robin as told to Pooh Bear
And let’s face it, there’s nothing sexier than confidence.
